Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of generating sets, diesel and gas engines, turbines where applicable, and other mechanical equipment.
- Carry out preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance schedules.
- Inspect and maintain engine components, including pistons, cylinder heads, crankshafts, bearings, valves, and cooling systems.
- Monitor engine performance, operating temperatures, vibration, lubrication, pressure, and other mechanical parameters.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement appropriate corrective measures to minimize downtime.
- Ensure the proper functioning of fuel supply systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems, exhaust systems, and air intake systems.
- Supervise engine overhauls, component replacements, and major mechanical repairs.
- Investigate mechanical failures, abnormal noise, excessive vibration, overheating, oil leaks, fuel leaks, and abnormal engine performance.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with electrical and instrumentation engineers to resolve equipment faults affecting generator performance.
- Prepare technical reports on breakdowns, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for generating equipment and auxiliary mechanical systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, inspection reports, and spare-parts usage records.
- Monitor equipment condition and recommend timely replacement of worn or damaged components.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and service life.
- Support equipment commissioning, testing, installation, and performance evaluation.
