Job title: Mechanical Engineer
About the Role Mechanical Engineer will work with a collaborative team to address recurring production issues and lead hands-on repairs, testing, and validation of mechanical systems on the plant floor. You will manage small to medium scale capital improvement projects, develop and maintain documentation, and mentor the production team on technical matters.
What You'll Do
- Work with a cooperative team to solve recurring production issues in your area of responsibility on the production floor
- Lead hands-on repairs, testing, and validation of mechanical systems and processes in the plant
- Manage small to medium scale capital improvement projects, overseeing safety, budgets, contractors, and providing project status updates to plant management
- Develop and maintain documentation for mechanical systems (preventive maintenance, spare parts, P&IDs, dashboards, etc.)
- Serve as a hands-on engineering resource and mentor to the production team
- Oversee the Management of Change process for all plant projects in assigned areas
- Present production status updates, timelines, and discuss issues on a weekly basis
- Analyze equipment data to drive improvements with engineers, technicians, and operators
- Assist and lead troubleshooting for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
What We're Looking For
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology with 3-5 years of related industrial experience, or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology in lieu of experience
- Experience with Allen Bradley operating systems (preferred) and basic ladder logic troubleshooting and programming
- Experience managing capital expansion projects and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, 3D CAD (SolidWorks), and AutoCAD
- This role requires night shift work within hours of 8pm-8am on standard weekdays
Nice to Have
- Experience with ladder logic troubleshooting and programming (basic knowledge)
- Additional experience with capital projects or maintenance management systems
