Job title: Mechanical Engineer I

About the Role The Mechanical Engineer I provides application and mechanical engineering support to sales, project management, and Domino's packaging solutions. This remote role collaborates with customers, vendors, and internal teams to integrate Domino Printers into client packaging machines.

What You'll Do

  • Travel to locations including customers, vendors, and Domino offices (25%-50%). Provide technical expertise to integrate Domino Printers into client packaging machines.
  • Perform site audits of client packaging machinery to determine the feasibility of integrating Domino Printers.
  • Create concise trip reports; document client requirements, scope, and installation requirements.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing CAD drawings following standards; ensure revision control.
  • Archive drawings in the AE database with revision control.
  • Provide design/manufacturing lead time estimates; work to meet timeframes.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and manufacturing vendors to address questions during hardware manufacturing.
  • Support first installations, sales calls, site visits, and project managers as necessary.
  • Use standard Project Management & Engineering Group templates for trip reports, drawing transmittals, and communications where templates exist.
  • Update active project data in Salesforce.com and provide weekly workload updates to manager.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience; or 10 years of mechanical application support and design experience.
  • Familiarity with Coding and Marking equipment, and/or food/beverage or pharmaceutical packaging experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to interact with different levels of employees/customers.
  • Excellent time management and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel; PowerPoint; Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and ask for help when necessary.
  • Willingness to travel as required (25%-50%).

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Coding and Marking equipment and/or packaging for food, beverage, or pharmaceutical sectors is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $95,000-$105,000 per year.
