Job title: Mechanical Engineer Department Manager
Leading multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Department Manager for their Detroit team!
Responsibilities
- Work with Project Managers within the organization
- Create work plans/estimates for department staff assigned projects
- Ensure work meets QA/QC standards and client expectations
- Supervise projects/staff
- Meet performance metrics/goals
- Prepare proposals and administer project contracts
- Maintain backlogs/manpower forecasts for proper staffing and department utilization
- Perform annual reviews and timecards/expense report approvals for staff
- Assist Human Resources with recruiting and training
- Participate in various trade organizations
- Assist with business development
Requirements

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred

8+ years of mechanical design experience in a consulting environment

Experience designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects

PE License preferred

Working knowledge of Revit

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Salary is commensurate with experience.
