Description
- To produce accurate and detailed mechanical drawings and models for EPCCM projects, translating engineers' concepts, sketches, and specifications into construction-ready documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare mechanical drawings, including piping layouts, equipment general arrangements, isometrics, and fabrication drawings, using AutoCAD and related software.
- Develop 2D and 3D models from engineers' sketches, markups, and design specifications.
- Revise drawings promptly to reflect design changes, redlines, and as-built conditions.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, client requirements, and industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
- Maintain drawing registers, version control, and document revision records.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams to resolve design clashes.
- Support site teams with drawing clarifications and technical queries.
Qualifications and Experience
- OND / HND or B.Eng / B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Draughtsmanship, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of drafting experience, preferably in oil and gas, EPC, or heavy construction.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or SmartPlant 3D is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good understanding of mechanical systems, piping, and fabrication practices
- Ability to work to deadlines and handle multiple revisions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with HSE standards on project sites
