Job title: Mechanical Designer
About the Role As the Mechanical Designer reporting to the Head of the Mechanical Department / Project Manager, you will carry out mechanical design projects necessary for the assembly and installation of client-specified machinery.
What You'll Do
- Capture the machine or facilities required by the client in a preliminary project using design software, based on its specifications, and obtain commercial references.
- Coordinate with Electrical Designers and Automata Programmers to develop the parts of the project (approximately 45%).
- Participate in client meetings to validate the preliminary project (approximately 5%).
- Break down the overall machine design into machining plans for subcontracting (approximately 10%).
- Load the breakdown plans and commercial references into the Management Program so Purchasing can proceed with the necessary procedures.
- Resolve questions from external subcontracted workshops about machining plans and assist Mechanical Assemblers in the Workshop with assembly guidance.
- Update the plans of a machine with input from Mechanical and Electrical Assemblers.
- Prepare the client documentation to accompany the machine or installation: plans, list of commercial references, list of recommended spare parts, preventive maintenance plan, etc.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design for machinery or industrial installations.
- Proficiency with mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, Solid Edge, or CATIA.
- Experience producing technical documentation, drawings, and bills of materials.
- Basic working proficiency in English for written and spoken communication.
Nice to Have
- Ansys simulation software experience.
- Knowledge of tolerance analysis, 3D modeling, SolidWorks (CAD), fabrication, thermal management, automation.
