Job title: Mechanical Design Engineer
About the Role Join Koch IP Holdings, LLC as a Mechanical Design Engineer focusing on creating and modifying 3D CAD models and technical drawings to support product development and engineering projects. You will develop models using Siemens NX and SolidWorks, maintain design documentation, collaborate with engineers to improve manufacturability, and ensure data integrity in PLM systems.
What You'll Do
- Develop and update 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using CAD software like Siemens NX, SolidWorks, and so on.
- Maintain design documentation and ensure compliance with company standards and industry standard practices.
- Collaborate with engineers to resolve design challenges and optimize manufacturability.
- Prepare and manage CAD files for prototyping, tooling, and production.
- Support design reviews and provide technical input on design feasibility.
- Ensure proper version control and data management within PLM systems.
- Assist in creating BOMs and supporting documentation for manufacturing.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 2+ years mechanical design experience.
- CAD design experience, preferably with Siemens NX or SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in 3D modelling, drafting, and assembly design.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of general telecommunication standards.
- Understands properties of metal, glass and ceramics materials, manufacturing methods and surface treatment techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Preferred: English CET 6 or above, or equivalent. Proficient in reading and writing. Adequate in verbal communication.
Nice to Have
- Design experience on optical components, passive or active modules, optical connection products, or precision devices.
- Design experience with assembly line fixtures and jig.
