About the Role Molex (Koch IP Holdings, LLC) is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Assistant Engineer to help design industry-leading high-speed connectors and cages for big data and hyperscale customers. This role sits on the New Product Development team within the Datacom & Specialty Solutions division and involves close collaboration with Product Development Engineering, PM, MIE, Sourcing and Quality across locations. You will contribute to turning concepts into manufacturable products and ensuring timely delivery to market. What You'll Do
- Create and modify 3D models, drawings, and BOMs.
- Perform mechanical design analysis, simulations, generate and review test reports, and help eliminate design mistakes.
- Conduct measurements and testing on products to validate performance.
- Follow the product development process and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time market release. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or 1+ years of experience in mechanical design.
- Mechanical Engineering, Molds and Dies Design Engineering.
- Preference for candidates with design experience or academic projects involving connectors, laptops, sheet metal components, light guides, and thermal management solutions.
- Proficiency in English; ability to participate in global meetings.
- 3D/2D CAD skills (NX preferred, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Drawing skills with GD&T experience.
- Knowledge of molding, stamping, PCB, plating, assembly processes, and the product development process. Nice to Have
- English as a second language; ability to join global meetings.
- Experience with NX (preferred) and other CAD tools.
