Join our Supply Chain Team
Supply Chain & Manufacturing is where our brands are made, moved and delivered to the world. With over half of our people working across more than 100 sites, this is a complex, large-scale operation that brings together production, logistics, engineering and supplier partnerships. It’s fast-paced and hands-on, with teams working together to ensure quality, efficiency and sustainability at every stage. From sourcing ingredients to getting products into customers’ hands, you’ll play a role in delivering the brands people know and love.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer (Compliance), you’ll play an important role in supporting engineering compliance and safety across our Leven Packaging site, helping us meet current legislation and Diageo Global Technical Standards.
You’ll coordinate and support compliance activities across areas such as LOLER, PUWER, Pressure Systems and DSEAR, alongside the site’s wider engineering safety and compliance programme.
You’ll work with internal teams and external contractors to coordinate statutory inspections, follow up on remedial actions, maintain statutory maintenance plans within SAP and ensure engineering documentation and compliance processes remain accurate and audit-ready.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanical or maintenance engineer looking to broaden their expertise in engineering compliance. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of statutory and process safety requirements while helping to continuously improve engineering standards across a complex manufacturing environment.
About You
We’re looking for a time-served Mechanical Engineer with strong practical experience gained within a manufacturing, production or similarly complex engineering environment. You may already work in maintenance, reliability or engineering and be looking for an opportunity to develop further within mechanical compliance.
Ideally, you’ll be qualified to HNC level or have equivalent practical experience, with a good understanding of mechanical systems, planned and statutory maintenance, and engineering safety. You’ll be comfortable interpreting technical drawings and P&IDs and using systems such as Microsoft Office and SAP or another CMMS platform.
Working knowledge of relevant engineering legislation, such as LOLER, PUWER, Pressure Systems or DSEAR, would be key to success in this role. Wider experience across areas such as COMAH, process safety, functional safety, Legionella or asbestos management would also be advantageous, but we don’t expect you to be an expert across every area from day one.
IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH or similar safety qualifications would be beneficial, although we’re equally interested in candidates with the right mechanical engineering foundations and a desire to continue developing their compliance expertise.
Most importantly, you’ll be a proactive problem solver with a strong commitment to engineering safety and best practice. You’ll be comfortable working collaboratively, influencing others and taking ownership of actions to help maintain a safe, compliant and high-performing manufacturing environment.
