About the Role
The Mechanic inspects, diagnoses, and performs overhaul and major/minor repairs on Franklin County vehicles and highway maintenance equipment. This role conducts brake and hydraulic repairs, routine servicing, preventative maintenance inspections, and correction of deficiencies to keep fleet assets operating safely and efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Operate a variety of tools and equipment to maintain and repair vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with county guidelines.
- Road test vehicles after repair work is completed to verify proper operation.
- Assist with maintenance of systems and records, including files, lists, logs, and other recordkeeping using computerized and manual systems for proper evaluation and documentation.
