About the Role ANDRITZ is seeking a Mech Serv Mechanic to support mechanical services for the Griffin, GA operation. The role focuses on disassembly/assembly of roll components and maintaining industrial equipment to improve reliability and performance.
What You'll Do
- Disassemble and assemble bearing housings and internal roll components.
- Use air tools, hand tools, hydraulic bearing/gear pullers, and perform visual inspections to assess component quality.
- Properly document repair requirements per company repair manuals and instructions.
- Safely handle rolls and components using overhead cranes and forklifts up to 60 tons.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, torch cutting, basic layout, blueprint reading, and precision measurement.
- Perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, stooping) and wear PPE in accordance with safety rules.
- Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment to improve reliability and performance.
- Contribute to meeting/exceeding quality goals through a quality maintenance program.
- Preferred candidates will have knowledge of bearings, chains, sprockets, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Basic computer/data entry skills.
What We're Looking For
- Education: High school Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 2 years of relevant manufacturing-related mechanical or millwright experience, or 2 years technical training preferred.
- Solid mechanical aptitude; ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
