Role title

The Measurement Engineer II applies knowledge of fiber optic manufacturing processes and measurement systems to support product testing and inspection across global manufacturing sites. This role supports technology transfers, drives measurement standardization, and acts as a technical resource to ensure measurement systems are consistently deployed and sustained across regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation, qualification, deployment, and sustainment of measurement and inspection systems for fiber optic products across manufacturing sites in the Americas.
  • Lead or support product, equipment, and technology transfers between sites and regions, ensuring measurement systems are properly defined, installed, validated, and documented for manufacturing use.
  • Drive standardization of measurement methods, equipment settings, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation across sites to improve consistency and repeatability.
  • Plan and execute measurement system qualification activities, including measurement system analysis, gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies, capability studies, and method correlation.
  • Troubleshoot complex measurement- and equipment-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability, reduce measurement error, and support manufacturing performance.
  • Lead or support improvement initiatives related to reliability, automation, error reduction, efficiency, and operational readiness of measurement systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures, work instructions, technical specifications, qualification records, and training materials.
  • Train and support engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on measurement systems, methods, standard practices, and transfer readiness.
  • Collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to align requirements, share best practices, and ensure successful deployment and sustainment of measurement systems.
  • Provide regional technical support for startup activities, escalations, and implementation issues at manufacturing sites.
