About the Role The Meals on Wheels Substitute Driver delivers daily meals and wellness checks to eligible adults and seniors in Pittsfield, NH. This substitute role supports the program with variable hours and a pay rate of $9.79 per hour, focusing on safe, timely delivery and adherence to program policies. What You'll Do

  • Deliver daily meals and wellness checks to the homes of senior citizens and eligible adults in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Pick up meals from the program site and, if requested, assist in meal packing.
  • Deliver meals courteously and in a timely manner.
  • Report safety, environmental or social service needs of the participants to supervisor while completing accurate timesheets and odometer sheets.
  • Clean and maintain food delivery equipment as required and keep a sanitary environment in the vehicle.
  • Maintain accurate route slips and communicate all changes to supervisor, verbally and in writing.
  • Distribute and collect donation envelopes for the program weekly, unless otherwise directed.
  • Accurately maintain up-to-date meal counts.
  • Adhere to all policies and protocols outlined in the Meals on Wheels Handbook and trainings, especially as they apply to personal safety, body mechanics, client safety, and food safety. What We're Looking For
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalency credential.
  • Experience: Maintaining professional boundaries with clients; maintaining confidentiality of clients and coworkers and internal business information.
  • Skills: Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment; attend team and staff meetings as scheduled; ability to organize efficient route plans and work under time constraints of hot food delivery.
  • Characteristics: Punctual, dependable with courteous demeanor, and personable.
  • Technical: Valid driver’s license and good driving record; reliable sources of transportation; maintaining minimal insurance coverage per CAPBM’s Personnel Policies & Procedures Handbook Insurance Requirements policy.
  • Physical: Ability to physically lift coolers containing meals weighing up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and wash coolers.
  • Other: Successful completion of criminal record and driving record checks. Compensation & Benefits
