Job title: ME Makerspace, Lab & Shop Assistant
About the Role The ME Makerspace, laboratory and metal shop assistants will support the ME Lab Manager and Technician by assisting with equipment, instruction, and setup of simple instructional experiments, and by helping manage the Makerspace facility for innovation and student advancement. They will also assist with equipment, basic maintenance, and supply requests in the ME Metal Shop, while adhering to all safety protocols.
What You'll Do
- Assist the ME Lab Manager and Technician with equipment setup, instruction in the ME Metal Shop, and setting up simple instructional laboratory experiments.
- Support Makerspace management including facility operations for innovation and student advancement, equipment coordination, and supply requests.
- Provide basic maintenance and assistance with instructional needs and faculty/department requests.
What We're Looking For
- Current Villanova student or eligibility for work-study (work-study preferred but open to all students).
- Availability up to 20 hours per week.
- Ability to work on campus and follow all safety protocols and dress codes in lab and shop environments.
- Willingness to assist, learn, and support ME faculty and students in a laboratory/maker space setting.
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage rate: $13 per hour.
- Position type: Student hourly, up to 20 hours per week.
- Location: On-campus Makerspace, ME Lab and Metal Shop.
