Role Description
- The Mathematics Teacher will design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate mathematics lessons aligned with Montessori principles and the school’s curriculum. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and facilitating classroom activities, assessing student understanding, providing differentiated support, and maintaining accurate records of student progress.
- The teacher will collaborate with colleagues to integrate mathematics with broader interdisciplinary learning, participate in staff meetings and professional development, and communicate regularly with families about student growth. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Port Harcourt, requiring active presence in the classroom and school community. The teacher is expected to contribute to a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student independence and critical thinking.
Qualifications

Strong foundation in Mathematics and Mathematics Education, with the ability to teach core concepts clearly and confidently.

Proven skills in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development, including creating structured, student-centered learning experiences.

Status as a Qualified Teacher with relevant teaching certifications or licenses appropriate for K–12 education.

Experience or training in Montessori education or child-centered pedagogies, or willingness to learn and apply Montessori methods.

Effective classroom management skills and the ability to foster a respectful, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and colleagues.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education, or a closely related field.

Commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and collaboration within a teaching team.
