About Innovamat

Innovamat is an educational organization specializing in mathematics education. Founded in Barcelona in 2017, Innovamat provides schools with a complete, research-based math program covering Early Childhood through Secondary Education, grounded in research across mathematics education, cognition, and neuroscience.

Innovamat also partners with leading thinkers and researchers in mathematics education, including Peter Liljedahl, author of Building Thinking Classrooms, and Brian Butterworth, a leading researcher in mathematical cognition and dyscalculia, bringing world-class expertise and perspectives into our broader work.

Our program integrates curriculum, teacher training, assessment, and intervention into a single coherent system. Today, Innovamat is present in 9 countries, partnering with 31,000+ teachers across 3,300+ schools and reaching more than 720,000 students. We are one of the few organizations in the sector with independently validated efficacy data from external research institutions, and the first non-American organization to pass the California State Board of Education adoption process for a core math curriculum.

Why This Role Is Special ✨

You’ll be in the classroom, alongside teachers, observing lessons, modeling instruction, asking the right questions, and providing thoughtful feedback that helps educators grow. You’ll build meaningful coaching relationships and support teachers through the full journey — from their first steps with Innovamat to becoming confident, independent practitioners who can successfully implement Innovamat while continuing to strengthen their mathematics instruction.

You’ll have the autonomy to shape how coaching happens in your schools — designing personalized math success plans, adapting your approach to different educators and contexts, and becoming a trusted thought partner for teachers and school leaders.

If you’re passionate about developing educators, thinking deeply about how students learn mathematics, and creating lasting change in classrooms, this is an opportunity to take your impact to the next level.

What You Will Do 🏁

Be the Math Success specialist — not just supporting implementation, but transforming how teachers think about and teach math

Design and deliver personalized Professional Development (PD) journeys, tailoring coaching plans to each school and teacher

Coach teachers in real classrooms through observations, live modeling, and feedback cycles

Help shift instruction toward thinking classrooms, where students actively reason, explore, and engage deeply with math

Drive measurable impact — from teacher confidence to student engagement and conceptual understanding

Lead hands-on, math-focused PD sessions and workshops rooted in real classroom practice

Act as a trusted thought partner to educators, supporting them through challenges and growth

Build a strong community of math educators across your region

Travel 30–50% of your time to schools and districts

You Have 🔍

A strong background in mathematics, math education, and instructional coaching. You are a current or former math teacher with a clear academic and professional focus on mathematics and its teaching, and experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting other educators in their instructional practice. Experience teaching or coaching elementary or K–8 mathematics is strongly preferred.

A passion to bring cutting-edge research into the classroom and positively impact students and teachers.

Expertise in creating meaningful relationships and generating opportunities with district-level administrators, or equivalent.

A knack for speaking and connecting with teachers. Educator-to-educator communication skills are fundamental for thriving in this role.

A hands-on approach to your work, understanding that our mission requires a lot of building from scratch.

An entrepreneurial mindset capable of thinking outside the box and excited about the challenges of an early stage.

An appetite to travel and visit schools and classrooms in your region.
