About the Role

AoPS Academy is hiring a Part-Time Math Instructor for the 2026-2027 academic year to teach engaging, curriculum-driven math to advanced middle- and high-school students in Sugar Land, TX. This in-person role involves leading small classes (up to 16 students), delivering company-created curriculum, and building strong relationships with students and families to inspire critical thinking in math.

What You'll Do

• Teach engaging curriculum using company-created materials to lead small math classes for advanced students.

• Actively involve students in each class and promote student-led learning.

• Manage classrooms with up to 16 students.

• Grade and provide feedback on tests.

• Build relationships with students and families to support their educational journey.

• Inspire a love for learning and critical thinking in math.

• What We're Looking For

• A Bachelor's degree is required; a degree in a STEM-related or educational field is strongly preferred.

• Strong content knowledge in math.

• Experience teaching or tutoring students.

• K-12 classroom teaching experience is preferred.

• Not required: a formal teaching credential.

• Availability to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends.

• Must be located in Sugar Land, TX or the greater area and be able to commute to the campus.

• Schedule: After-school and weekend classes with a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class.

• Class length: Each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes.

• Location: In-person at the Sugar Land, TX campus; candidates must be located in Sugar Land or the greater area and able to commute.
