Job title: Math Instructor - Elementary
About the Role
AoPS Academy is seeking a Part-Time Math Instructor to teach elementary math in Millburn, NJ using company-created curriculum to small classes (up to 16 students) in an afterschool setting. The role focuses on engaging instruction, student-led learning, and building strong relationships with students and families.
What You'll Do

Teach engaging curriculum and lead small math classes using company materials for advanced students.

Actively involve students in each class and promote student-led learning.

Manage the classroom effectively, supporting up to 16 students.

Grade assessments and provide feedback to students and families.

Build relationships with students and families to support ongoing education.

Inspire a love of learning and critical thinking in math.

Coordinate schedule: after-school hours on weekdays (as early as 4pm) and/or weekends; each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes; minimum ~3 hours per week per class.

What We're Looking For

A Bachelor’s degree is required; a degree in STEM or education is strongly preferred.

Strong content knowledge in math and experience teaching or tutoring.

K-12 classroom teaching experience is preferred.

Not required: a formal teaching credential.

Schedule availability for after-school weekday hours (as early as 4pm) and/or weekends; enthusiasm for working with advanced math students.

Nice to Have

Teaching experience with AoPS materials or advanced math topics is a plus.

Prior experience teaching in after-school programs.
