Your position

As an Associate Category Manager for Indirect Spend you will play a pivotal role in leading category strategies across various sectors including facility management, professional services, travel, and more. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in negotiating and driving cost efficiencies while promoting sustainable practices within the supply chain.

Your workplace will be located at our Global Headquarters in Esbjerg, positioned at the heart of the Danish energy industry with stunning waterfront views. This is a full-time, temporary maternity cover for a minimum duration of 12 months.

Your tasks & responsibilities

As an Associate Category Manager, your primary responsibility will be to support our Group Support Functions, including HR, Marketing and IT, with strategic procurement and day-to-day purchasing activities. You will also manage indirect spend, with particular responsibility for facility management, including Travel.

• Group Support Functions: Partner with functions such as HR, Marketing and IT to understand their requirements and provide procurement support aligned with business needs.
• Contract Negotiation: Lead and support supplier negotiations to achieve competitive pricing and favourable terms and conditions.
• Purchase Order Management: Coordinate and issue purchase orders, follow up on invoice handling and help ensure compliance with the procurement-to-pay process.
• Cost Management: Maintain visibility of expenditure, support budget control and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve commercial value.
• Indirect Spend and Facility Management: Manage relevant indirect spend categories, including facility management services, and support effective supplier performance and service delivery.
• Group Travel: Manage the travel category across the Semco Group, including supplier relationships, commercial agreements, cost optimisation and stakeholder support.

Your Profile & qualifications

We are looking for an outgoing and positive individual who is passionate about indirect spend and wants to leave their personal mark on it. You have a proactive and organised approach to your work and are eager to enhance your skills within the department.

• Minimum experience of 2 years in Strategic Procurement or a related commercial field, experience in indirect spend is advantageous but not required.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills, capable of interacting effectively across diverse cultures and functions. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
• Positive, proactive, and a team player with the autonomy to operate independently.
• Fluent in Danish and English, both written and spoken.
