Job title: Materials Handler
About the Role Precision Castparts seeks a Materials Handler to coordinate, track, and document the movement of parts among vendors, departments, and service centers. The role ensures accurate and timely movement of parts through the manufacturing process and maintains quality records, invoices, and packing slips to support quality documentation requirements.
What You'll Do
- Verify and match part lots with paperwork, purchase orders, routing information, serial numbers, and quantities before transporting to the next location/vendor.
- Enter accurate inventory and location information into the Visibility and EPMS systems.
- Verify completion of necessary signoffs on work completion and/or routing information before transporting lots to the next location/vendor.
- Meet with leads to reconcile problems regarding paperwork or part inaccuracies and communicate across production departments about product movement.
- Follow routers; move parts by hand, pallet jack, electric jack and with forklifts and hoists.
- Coordinate loading and unloading and strapping of product to and from division service centers; update the computerized inventory control system accordingly.
What We're Looking For
- Attention to detail and the ability to verify part lots, paperwork, routing information, serial numbers, and quantities.
- Ability to transport parts following routers and to operate material handling equipment (hand tools, pallet jack, electric jack, forklifts, hoists).
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with leads and other departments to resolve paperwork or part inaccuracies.
- Experience entering inventory and location data into inventory systems such as Visibility and EPMS.
- Understanding of quality documentation requirements and maintaining quality records, invoices, and packing slips.
