Job title: Material Planner

About the Role The Material Planner will ensure the availability of raw material components to meet the production schedule across Drug Substance, Drug Product and Finish Goods Packaging Operations. You will plan, purchase and release raw materials within the SAP ERP system, and contribute to developing and implementing systems to optimize raw material coverage in line with the Master Production Schedule and product launch activities.

What You'll Do

• Own Material Requirements Planning (MRP) in SAP to align with the Master Production Schedule and ensure operational requirements are met.
• Convert purchase requisitions to purchase orders in SAP and manage supplier invoices according to the detail schedule.
• Monitor material release status to meet detailed schedules; manage end-to-end inventory (pricing info records, PPV, reserve, expiry, FIFO/FEFO, safety stock, lead times).
• Issue quarterly supplier forecasts and generate recurring Heatmap/Material Readiness reports for site stakeholders; participate in weekly material readiness activity.
• Ensure supplier open order book is issued and aligned with SAP on a weekly basis; maintain Master Data accuracy for material components in SAP.
• Manage aging receipts, resolve issues and identify root causes; participate in STEM (Short-Term Exception Management) as required.
• Input into the monthly site Supply Chain Review (SCR); participate in end-of-campaign performance reviews and in Global Category Form and QBR.
• Participate in site Single Use Application strategy meetings; facilitate Tier 1 Purchasing team meetings; support Change Request, CAPA, Deviation & Supplier Change Notification (SCN) within the QMS.
• Engage in Right First Time (Six Sigma) and lean manufacturing practices to drive Operational Excellence; develop, maintain and publish KPIs for supplier performance (OTIF).
• Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) projects; adhere to Safety and Quality SOPs; participate in daily/weekly cross-functional meetings to maintain ATS and ATP for Make/Assess/Release commitments; join weekly S&OE meetings for cross-functional alignment.
• Contribute to Material Planner Standard Work; support performance metrics such as Cost Savings, Dual Sourcing, and Operational Readiness Programs (ORP); collaborate with site and BioMarin teams.
• Be a strong strategic thinker capable of operating at both strategic and tactical levels.

What We're Looking For

• Experience performing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and SAP-based procurement in a manufacturing/biotech environment.
• Proficiency with SAP (detail scheduling), purchase orders, supplier invoicing, and master data management for materials.
• Solid knowledge of inventory management concepts (FIFO/FEFO, safety stock, lead times), quarterly supplier forecasting, and KPI development (OTIF).
• Exposure to Six Sigma/Lean, Continuous Improvement, and QMS processes (CAPA, Deviation, SCN).
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to engage vendors ethically; customer-focused mindset; results-driven with strategic/tactical orientation.
