Job title: Material Handler/Dispatcher

About the Role Precision Castparts is seeking a Material Handler/Dispatcher to coordinate, track, and document the movement of parts between vendors and internal departments. The role ensures accurate and timely parts transportation, maintains quality records and reports, and supports the manufacturing process with organized inventory control.

What You'll Do

  • Verify and match part lots with paperwork, purchase orders, routing information, serial numbers, and quantities before transporting to next location or vendor.
  • Move parts per routing information using hand tools, pallet jacks, electric jacks, forklifts, and hoists; load and unload, and strap loads for transfer to division service centers; update visibility and EPMS inventory to reflect locations.
  • Move equipment and parts within teams as needed; perform computer entries to update inventory and location; enter transaction codes for all lot movements; dispatch all jobs and move parts to the next location; complete daily cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Reconcile paperwork issues with leads; meet with leads to resolve discrepancies; maintain communication with production departments regarding product movement.
  • Housekeeping: maintain neat and clean trucks; clean floors; keep aisles free of parts and pallets.
  • Safety: adhere to plant and department safety rules; safely operate all equipment; identify and report safety problems.
  • Complete logs and records for trucks; ensure medical card is obtained.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.

What We're Looking For

  • Current and valid operator’s/drivers license; minimum of two years licensed driving experience; at least 21 years of age or older; minimum of one year driving experience within 30-mile radius of the plant.
  • Previous manufacturing floor experience or dispatching experience affording knowledge of production movement and coordination.
  • Ability to follow routing information and enter accurate inventory and location data into Visibility and EPMS.
  • Willingness to operate and maintain equipment safely and to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Must obtain medical card.
  • Training in Materials Resource Planning computerized inventory control systems and Hazardous Waste Management Training, with on-the-job training provided.

  • PCC’s Fork Lift Driving Safety Certification Training completed.
