About this role
About the Role Material Handlers ensure safe and accurate transport of materials and finished goods within the plant to support manufacturing operations. This is a second-shift role with varying 8-12 hour shifts; shift starts at 3pm, based on customer demands. What You'll Do
- Transport materials and inventory to assigned locations using forklift, tugger, pallet jack, etc.
- Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies
- Collect and dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; record locations
- Confirm shipping details or special instructions; expedite shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule
- Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product
- Prepare and maintain records of materials received and shipped including dates, locations, and other pertinent information
- Conduct cycle counts to verify material quantity accuracy
- Load finished goods for shipment to customers with industrial truck/material handling equipment
- Other duties as assigned by management What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Written and verbal communication skills
