About this opportunity:
platform to handle the parts of a telecom workload for which it is best suited. In a RAN setting, network measurements and operational data are collected, filtered, and encoded by classical components before selected computational tasks are sent to a quantum processor. Understanding and optimizing these end-to-end data flows is essential for assessing whether quantum acceleration can provide practical value in telecom systems.
What you will do:
The thesis includes the following tasks:
-
Review quantum algorithms for RAN workloads, with emphasis on the capabilities of integrated quantum-classical systems.
-
Select a representative RAN use case and define the research question, target capabilities, and evaluation metrics.
-
Prepare data and experimental scenarios that reflect RAN workloads and are suitable for state-of-the-art quantum computers.
-
Implement appropriate conventional baselines and define the corresponding key performance indicators.
-
Develop and validate a quantum computing architecture focused on the selected capability, such as latency, portability, robust processing, etc.
-
Evaluate the proposed architecture against the selected baselines using the defined metrics.
-
Assess hardware suitability by analyzing qubit requirements, circuit depth, compilation overhead, and quantum-classical interconnect latency.
-
Document the proposed solution, methodology, and evaluation results.
The skills you bring:
-
MSc Student in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Machine Learning, Mathematics.
-
Proficient in Probability Theory, Neural Networks, System Modeling, quantum computing.
-
Understanding of quantum computers (superconducting, neutral atoms trapped ion) and
software stacks (QISKIT, Cuda-Q, Pennylane, etc.)
- Good programing skills are required, knowledge of C++, Python.
