MASTER EXA INTELLIGENCE: AI AND ADVANCED MODELING IN ENERGY

We are looking for young STEM graduates interested in attending the 2nd level Specializing Master’s programme “EXA Intelligence: AI and Advanced Modeling in Energy”, created by Eni in partnership with Cefriel, the digital innovation centre of Politecnico di Milano, with the aim of developing advanced expertise in Artificial Intelligence, advanced modelling and high-performance computing applied to the challenges of the energy sector.

For the duration of the Master's course, participants will join Eni under a Higher Education and Research Apprenticeship contract.

By attending the Master's program, apprentices will acquire knowledge of the main paradigms of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, up to the most recent developments in Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Multimodal Learning. The program will also delve into topics such as Scientific Machine Learning, Optimization, and High Performance Computing, with a special focus on supercomputing for AI and advanced modeling, CPU and GPU architectures, parallel and accelerated computing techniques, and performance optimization, in order to combine mathematical-physical models with advanced computing capabilities. Furthermore, the program will address aspects related to model interpretability and the responsible use of AI, exploring in depth its ethical, governance, and cybersecurity implications, as well as the development of managerial and soft skills necessary to operate in complex technological and industrial environments.

The programme includes 6 months of classes (practical exercises and laboratory activities) at the Politecnico di Milano Bovisa Campus + 6 months of project work at Eni.

Eni offers all apprentices a gross monthly salary of €1,500 for the entire duration of the programme.

The Specializing Master’s programme is intended for candidates with the following requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Mathematics, Physics and Statistics, Automation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Energy and Nuclear Engineering, Management Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental and Land Engineering, or Materials Engineering, awarded by December 31st, 2026
• Final grade of at least 100/110 or equivalent for foreign qualifications
• Not have turned 29 years old by December 31st, 2026
• Excellent knowledge of English which will be assessed during the selection process (for foreign candidates, good knowledge of Italian will be considered a preferential requirement)

Deadline for submitting the application:

• December 10th, 2026

Lectures will be held in English at the “Goccia” facility within the Politecnico di Milano Bovisa Campus, starting from March 2027.
