• Position Overview

• Rider University invites applications for a Marketing Manager, Westminster College of Media and Performing Arts (WCMPA). Reporting to the Associate Director of University Marketing and Communications (UMC), with a dotted-line relationship to the Dean of WCMPA, the Marketing Manager for the Westminster College of Media and Performing Arts serves as the primary marketing partner for the College, developing and coordinating marketing and communication strategies that promote WCMPA’s academic programs, performances, events, summer and continuing education offerings, faculty and student accomplishments, and other College priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual marketing and communication plan for WCMPA.

• Serve as the primary marketing contact for the Dean, faculty, staff, academic programs and performing arts organizations within the College.

• Manage the development of print and digital assets such as programs, posters, brochures and social media assets for various performances, events, academic programming and other College priorities as needed.

• Create and manage messaging and content for prospective students, current students, alumni, arts patrons, educators and community audiences.

• Coordinate advertising, creative, web, public relations, email, photography and video needs with appropriate UMC team members.

• Create and manage social media content for the College across appropriate platforms.

• Maintain marketing calendars and timelines for major College initiatives, performances and events.

• In collaboration with Performance Management, develop and edit promotional copy, newsletters, email communications, web content, event descriptions and other marketing materials.

• Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, public relations, advertising, journalism, arts administration or a related field.

• 4-5 years professional experience in marketing, communications or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns.

• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.

• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders.

• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

• Experience with digital marketing, social media and content development.

• Ability to work effectively with creative, communications and marketing professionals across multiple functions.

• Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.

• Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Experience in higher education, performing arts, arts administration or a cultural organization.

• Experience marketing concerts, theatrical productions, dance performances, festivals or other live events.

• Familiarity with email marketing, content management systems, digital advertising and marketing analytics.

• Understanding of graphic design, photography and video production processes.
