AARP Foundation is seeking a Marketing Manager in Washington, DC. There are two positions available. The role leads the development and execution of integrated marketing and communications strategies and campaigns that support our work helping older adults with low income. You will create marketing plans, develop content and collateral aligned with business priorities, write strong copy for print and digital materials, and ensure consistency with brand and marketing strategies. You will partner with the Volunteer Program, Financial Wellbeing, Development, and Grants teams to strengthen audience engagement, guide messaging, and advance business objectives. You will oversee project workflows, identify opportunities to streamline processes, and measure campaign performance to inform and refine strategies based on data and evolving priorities.
Responsibilities
- Create proposals, presentations, and materials for internal and external teams using product/program information, data, and media insights. Assist with planning, creation, and execution of strategic marketing communications.
- Consult and collaborate with cross-functional teams, colleagues, and leadership to deliver effective programs and client offerings that advance organizational goals.
- Monitor competitive landscape and market trends to identify new opportunities for shaping products, programs, and services relevant to the target audience.
- Provide guidance on marketing best practices and campaign strategies to colleagues and external partners. Advise stakeholders on next steps, opportunities, and risks using best practices and lessons learned.
- Observe, review, and measure campaign outcomes, and proactively share lessons learned with key stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience leading and executing integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns across email, content, direct mail, print, social media, digital advertising, and other channels.
- Strong project management skills with experience using tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Basecamp, or similar to manage timelines, workflows, and deliverables.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset with experience measuring campaign performance, interpreting marketing metrics, and using insights to optimize strategy and execution.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to build relationships and collaborate across teams while managing expectations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, balance competing priorities, meet deadlines, and incorporate cross-functional feedback.
- Exceptional attention to detail with experience ensuring accuracy, quality, brand consistency, and compliance across marketing materials.
- Experience working within established brand standards to ensure consistency in messaging, visual identity, and customer experience.
- Working knowledge of creative and marketing technology platforms, including Canva, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp, or similar tools.
