Marketing Director, Portfolio Strategy
The Marketing Director, Portfolio Strategy, will lead long-term strategy and value creation for the U.S. GI Care portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President, U.S. GI Care, this leader will integrate portfolio planning, lifecycle management, innovation, pipeline assessment, and competitive strategy to guide investment decisions and drive future growth.
The Director will enable alignment across Marketing, Sales, Medical, Asset Strategy, Market Access, Finance, Pipeline Commercialization Strategy, Regulatory, Clinical Development, and Operations around clear portfolio choices, investment priorities, and execution plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead the GI Care portfolio strategy, long-range plan, and strategic roadmap.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities to maximize patient impact, growth, profitability, and competitive position.
- Lead lifecycle and innovation assessments across new indications, formulations, evidence generation, regulatory strategies, and product enhancements.
- Evaluate internal pipeline assets and external business development opportunities, including commercial due diligence.
- Lead competitive scenario planning and develop responses to emerging market risks and opportunities.
- Guide investment and resource allocation using market, clinical, operational, and financial insights.
- Serve as the commercial voice in portfolio governance and executive decision forums, influencing strategic choices and driving clear accountability and disciplined execution.
- Build commitment to portfolio priorities across internal teams, external partners, and senior stakeholders.
- Foster a collaborative, agile, accountable, and high-performance culture.

Qualifications

Required
-
Bachelor’s degree.
-
10 years of progressive commercial leadership experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry, with experience in marketing, commercial strategy, portfolio management, or business development.

Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives.

Strong strategic, analytical, financial, and commercial judgment.
-
Ability to influence senior leaders and align stakeholders without direct authority.

Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to shape compelling narratives and adapt messages to influence diverse audiences.

Ability to navigate ambiguity, anticipate risk, and translate strategy into action.

Preferred

Advanced degree.

Experience across multiple brands, lifecycle stages, pipeline assets, or business development assessments.

Cross-functional experience in Sales, Finance, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Clinical Development, MABI, or Operations.

GI or specialty pharmaceutical experience.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more in or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Where We Work

Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
