In addition to the Korea market responsibilities, the role manages key mechanical suppliers, driving cost competitiveness, quality and delivery performance, and supply risk mitigation.

The role also supports the Personal Health business by identifying and assessing potential suppliers in Korea, including manufacturers, component suppliers, and technology partners, to meet product, cost, and supply chain requirements.

Working closely with local business teams and global stakeholders, the role ensures supplier compliance, supply continuity, and continuous improvement across these responsibilities.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  1. Korea Market Procurement
  • Act as the senior Procurement representative for Korea and lead end-to-end sourcing, commercial negotiation, contracting and supplier decisions for complex third-party products and services.
  • Influence Korea leadership, Business Market Leaders, Sales, Service, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Legal, Finance and global procurement teams to translate competing business needs into integrated sourcing strategies and decisions.
  • Build and maintain a short- and mid-term productivity pipeline through competitive sourcing, supplier consolidation, Design-For-Excellence (DfX), demand challenge and total-cost-of-ownership analysis.
  • Balance project-based procurement with category management and promote approved, standardized and catalog solutions where appropriate.
  • Safeguard assurance of supply, delivery reliability and customer commitments through proactive supplier risk management and contingency planning.
  • Ensure compliance with Korean regulations, Philips Quality Management Systems, cybersecurity requirements, master agreements and internal procurement policies.
  • Monitor supplier performance, address recurring gaps and drive corrective actions with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Shape and implement procurement operating-model and process improvements that can be scaled across categories or markets where relevant.
  1. Mechanical Supplier Account Management
  • Own the commercial relationship and account strategy for an assigned portfolio of strategically important Mechanical suppliers, acting as the senior point of contact for supplier-related commercial alignment.
  • Develop and execute supplier account strategies aligned with category, business and supplier priorities, covering cost and feature competitiveness, performance, technology roadmaps, innovation, sustainability, capacity and risk.
  • Manage supplier performance using the applicable scorecards and cross-functional calibration, with clear improvement actions for quality, delivery, productivity and sustainability.
  • Lead negotiations, business reviews, contract management and sourcing events using Philips standards and tools.
  • Create competitive tension through benchmarking, market intelligence, supplier capability assessment and alternative-source development.
  • Coordinate supplier-related activities across Procurement, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Operations and business stakeholders to maintain one consistent Philips position.
  • Identify financial, operational, regulatory and continuity risks and establish mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Encourage suppliers to contribute design-to-cost, Lean, total-cost and innovation opportunities.
  1. Personal Health Supplier Scouting
  • Work with Personal Health procurement and business stakeholders to convert product, technology, capacity, localization and cost needs into a clear supplier search brief and selection criteria.
  • Map and research the Korean supplier ecosystem, including contract manufacturers, component suppliers and technology partners relevant to Personal Health products.
  • Build a qualified longlist and shortlist using market research, industry networks, trade shows, supplier databases and referrals from category and technical experts.
  • Lead market engagement, confidentiality arrangements, requests for information, capability screening and the commercial workstream through supplier selection.
  • Coordinate commercial, technical, quality, sustainability, regulatory and financial assessments with the relevant subject-matter experts.
  • Evaluate supplier readiness, strategic fit, willingness to invest, scalability, cost competitiveness, localization potential and business continuity risk.
  • Maintain a transparent scouting pipeline, document inclusion and exclusion rationale, and prepare sourcing recommendations for decision boards.
  • Lead the procurement contribution through qualification, contracting, onboarding and early supplier development while maintaining clear ownership across Procurement, Supplier Quality and Engineering.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or a related field. A mechanical or other technical engineering background is preferred.
