JOB TITLE: Market Data Manager, CIB (12-month Fixed Term Contract)

LOCATIONS: London

HOURS: Full-Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

About This Opportunity

You'll join our Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Market Data Services team, playing a critical role in how market data is sourced, governed and optimised across the bank. Responsible for key market data vendors, budget oversight, risk management and service governance, you'll help ensure market data remains aligned with regulatory obligations, business requirements and strategic priorities.

Based within the CIB Chief Operating Office, we partner closely with internal teams and external suppliers such as Bloomberg and London Stock Exchange Group. As Market Data Manager, you'll provide subject matter expertise across contracts, supplier relationships, inventory management, usage governance and cost optimisation, helping colleagues access the data they need while supporting CIB's strategic objectives.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term basis, taking ownership of critical market data services while helping shape future capability, governance and supplier strategy.

Key Accountabilities:

  • End‑to‑end management of market data vendors and contracts, including onboarding new services, contract implementation and ongoing supplier performance, working closely with Supplier Management and key vendors such as Bloomberg and London Stock Exchange Group
  • Oversight of market data inventory, entitlement and usage records, including access management, usage reporting, supplier declarations and cost allocation. Ensure contractual obligations are met and support effective budget management and cost control across the business.
  • Proactive identification, assessment and management of risks associated with market data provision, including regulatory, commercial and operational risks, with issues managed through established governance routes
  • Acting as a trusted business partner to key internal customers, providing market data expertise and professional advice while ensuring solutions align to current and future business needs.
  • Driving optimisation and efficiency by evaluating complex solutions, finding opportunities for cost mitigation and supporting delivery of a sustainable target operating model as business requirements evolve.
  • Maintaining strong awareness of market, vendor and regulatory developments, applying these insights to support decision-making, governance and strategic planning.

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience (5+ years) working within market data, market data services or data vendor management.
  • Experience managing market data vendors, supplier relationships and contract implementation.
  • Strong understanding of market data inventory systems, entitlements, licence management and usage reporting.
  • Experience identifying and managing operational, commercial and regulatory risks.
  • Strong relationship management and business partnering skills, with the ability to influence effectively across a broad range of colleagues and teams.
  • Ability to evaluate complex issues and support cost optimisation and commercial decision making.

Preferred

  • Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting development of colleagues.
  • Knowledge of major market data vendors such as Bloomberg and London Stock Exchange Group.
  • Experience operating within a regulated financial services environment.
