About the Role The Manufacturing Process Engineer at LG Chem’s Ravenna facility is a hands-on technical role focused on stable, efficient, high-quality ABS compounding operations. This position provides engineering support for twin-screw extrusion, mixing, blending, and recipe execution, with emphasis on process optimization and continuous improvement in a 24/5 environment. You will collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics to enhance process capability and ensure safe, efficient manufacturing across all shifts, primarily supporting the 2nd shift (2nd shift schedule). What You'll Do
- Provide day‑to‑day engineering ownership of ABS compounding and twin‑screw extrusion processes, including parameter optimization, material consistency, and equipment performance.
- Lead troubleshooting and support scale‑up/transfer of new or modified formulations from R&D into stable, full‑rate production.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, throughput, OEE, and energy efficiency while reducing scrap, rework, and downtime. What We're Looking For
- Deep knowledge of ABS compounding and twin‑screw extrusion processes with hands‑on engineering ownership.
- Experience with scale‑up/transfer of formulations from R&D to production and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement (yield, throughput, OEE, energy efficiency) and reduce scrap, rework, and downtime.
- Ability to work across functions with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics.
- Availability to support the 2nd shift (2:45 PM – 11:15 PM) in a 24/5 manufacturing environment.
