Manufacturing Operations Supervisor - Paint
Position Overview
International is seeking a driven and people-focused Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to lead the Main Paint Center team within Body and Paint Department at our state-of-the-art San Antonio Manufacturing Plant. As one of the industry's premier facilities producing Class 6-8 trucks and Electric Vehicles, our plant combines advanced technology, world-class manufacturing practices, and a culture of continuous improvement.

As International Motors continues to grow in San Antonio, we are expanding our production operations with the introduction of a night production shift. The night shift is Monday through Thursday from 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM, with production planned to begin in early 2027.
This position will initially work Day Shift and will be required to transition to Night Shift as the operation ramps up in mid-2027.
Day Shift Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 5:30 AM–4:00 PM, Some Mandatory Overtime Required.
Night Shift Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM–4:00 AM, Some Mandatory Overtime Required.
This is a salaried position supporting a manufacturing operation. While the primary schedule aligns with the designated production shift, employees are expected to provide operational support as needed to meet business objectives. This may require working outside normal production hours, including extended shifts, production startup activities, recovery efforts, and occasional weekend support based on operational requirements.
Shift Differential: 10% differential upon transitioning to Night Shift work schedule.
Responsibilities

Champion a strong safety culture and drive continuous safety improvements across the department

Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of up to 50 hourly employees to achieve their full potential

Drive quality, productivity, and operational performance to meet and exceed business goals

Manage staffing and resource allocation to ensure efficient operations and minimize downtime

Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to solve problems and improve processes

Develop, implement, and maintain standard work instructions and operating procedures

Foster employee engagement and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the team

Lead problem-solving efforts, conduct root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented and sustained

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of production/manufacturing experience

OR

Master's degree and at least 1 year of production/manufacturing experience

At least 5 years of production/manufacturing experience

Desired Skills

Experience leading hourly teams within a manufacturing or production environment

Automotive, assembly, or manufacturing experience preferred

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies

Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-demand environment

Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
