Manufacturing Mechanic (Diesel)

About the Role Volt is hiring for a Manufacturing Mechanic (Diesel) in South Gate, CA. The role involves repairing and performing preventive maintenance on diesel, LPG, and gasoline-powered industrial trucks and equipment, with opportunities to support major overhauls and installations. What You'll Do

• Perform repair and preventive maintenance on diesel, LPG, and gasoline-powered industrial trucks and equipment with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues by reviewing work orders and inspecting, listening to, and observing equipment in operation.
• Remove, repair, and replace components such as transmissions, hydraulic hoses, ignition systems, batteries, water pumps, radiators, seals, and gaskets.
• Lubricate mechanical components and conduct operational tests to ensure proper functionality following repairs.
• Fabricate and modify specialized lifting, towing, and hydraulic attachments as required.
• Interpret and follow blueprints, schematics, manufacturer manuals, and established safety guidelines.
• Maintain accurate service records and assist with inventory management of spare parts and supplies.
• Support major equipment overhauls and installations, including work on electrical wiring, pumps, valves, and hydraulic cylinders.
• Safely operate forklifts along with a wide range of hand and power tools. What We're Looking For
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical repair within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and basic math skills.
• Comfortable lifting 35 lbs repeatedly and standing for long periods.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
• Flexible with working overtime or extended shifts as needed. Nice to Have
• Forklift experience (preferred).
• Experience with electrical wiring, pumps, valves, and hydraulic components. Compensation & Benefits
• Pay Rate: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour.
