Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting all areas of manufacturing in the improvement of safety, quality, and productivity. They will collaborate with and work in support of operations team to achieve Key Performance Indicators and company goals. They will identify process improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing methods, six sigma, and other problem-solving tools.

The Manufacturing Engineer will perform engineering tasks related to process time standards, capacity, capital projects and process design. This role will interface directly with all levels of manufacturing and product engineering and be responsible for process improvements and controls, machine capacity/capability, equipment selection, and adherence to procedures and quality standards.

The Manufacturing Engineer will troubleshoot manufacturing equipment issues, assist in design of meaningful and accurate performance measurement systems to increase productivity, develop process documentation, improve process flow, and assist in maintaining the plant layout in AutoCAD.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Shop floor presence and ability to lead multifunctional project team(s)
• Evaluate and develop innovative solutions to engineering and manufacturing production opportunities which will include conducting process analysis, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, materials, and conferring with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes focused on increasing safety and improving efficiencies in the current manufacturing processes by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, cell layout, and establishing and implementing Design For Manufacture (DFM) plans.
• Work with Engineering and Quality team(s) to assure product and process quality by design testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements. When required work with New Product Development to ensure compliance with all newly launched products.
• Lead cross-functional team to deliver annual productivity targets (establish and manage project pipeline, work with management to establish the annual Plan productivity targets, and execute projects to deliver productivity at or above the targeted level). When required, provide project management support to ensure deliverables are met.
• Represent Manufacturing on the Engineering Change Order (ECO) Review Board.
• Serve as engineering support to shop floor acting as liaison to product engineering by managing shop floor ECO submission(s).
• Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Monitor and report productivity rates. Work with Finance/CI to modify production standards as needed based upon production time studies.
• Evaluate capital needs, prepare business case and commission.
• Evaluate and correct safety and ergonomic issues within manufacturing processes.
• Participate in and provide technical support as needed for Continuous Improvement events and progress toward Dover

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical).
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in manufacturing setting.

Desired Characteristics:

• Demonstrated ability with project management, and quantitative and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Knowledge of lean techniques
• Ability to efficiently navigate MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to effectively problem-solve using problem solving tools and techniques (A3, fishbone, root cause, 5-Whys)
• Support project leaders (A3/PDCA, DMAIC etc.) to build capability, deliver cost savings, and create a culture of discipline.
• Coordinate and support new product introduction, and line extensions.

This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
