Job title: Manufacturing Engineer
About the Role Join Copeland as a Manufacturing Engineer in Cookstown to manage production processes in your assigned area, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency. You will provide technical support to production, drive productivity improvements and cost reduction, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. You will focus on process optimization, workplace ergonomics, new product introduction, and effective cross-functional collaboration. You will lead continuous improvement activities within an automated manufacturing environment, including robotic welding and handling systems, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic machinery. You will also support the mechanical design and development of jigs and fixtures; plan and deliver strategic engineering and operational projects.
What You'll Do
- Provides essential technical support to production ensuring processes are efficient, safe, and compliant with quality standards, while driving productivity improvements, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Focuses on process optimization, workplace ergonomics, new product introduction, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Leads continuous improvement and structured problem-solving activities within an automated manufacturing environment, including robotic welding and handling systems, as well as complex hydraulic and pneumatic machinery.
- Supports the mechanical design and development of jigs and fixtures.
- Plans and delivers strategic engineering and operational projects.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience
- Experience in mechanical design
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Passion for innovation and personal development
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals with strong technical, analytical, and organisational skills
- Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision
Nice to Have
- Experience with workplace ergonomics
- Experience with robotic welding and handling systems
- Experience with automated manufacturing and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
- Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI)
