About this opportunity:

Dreaming about a traineeship that kickstarts your career? Unwrap your future with us! At Ericsson Estonia supply site, we’re giving you more than just a traineeship— we’re offering you a chance to dive into the business side of cutting-edge technology, work on projects that matter, and grow into the professional you want to be.

As a Manufacturing AI Trainee, you will support AI-driven initiatives in Ericsson’s Tallinn manufacturing environment, developing and testing computer-vision, automation and smart-factory solutions. You’ll work with Production alongside industrial engineering and automation specialists to analyze processes, identify improvement opportunities and turn pilot ideas into practical solutions. This traineeship offers hands-on learning in manufacturing processes and smart-factory technologies, including the opportunity to develop a small-scale Manufacturing AI pilot.

This is a standard office hours Traineeship – Mon-Fri, 40 hour per week (8hr per day).

What you will do:

  • Support implementation of AI-driven solutions in manufacturing operations
  • Help develop, test and improve computer-vision and automation applications
  • Participate in smart-factory pilots, from defining objectives to developing a small-scale pilot solution
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and identify potential AI use cases and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with Production, engineering, industrial engineering and automation teams
  • Document pilot objectives, tests, results and lessons learned, and share findings as agreed
  • Communicate risks, blockers and decisions needed to the manager, and keep work-related documentation up to date
  • Follow occupational safety, information security, confidentiality, quality and ESD requirements; use company data and systems only for assigned work and within granted access

Who we are looking for:

  • Students studying AI, information technology, automation, robotics, industrial engineering or a related field, with an interest in AI, automation or manufacturing
  • Analytical, practical problem-solver with good collaboration skills; programming, computer vision/machine learning, robotics, automation or technical-project experience is a plus, not required. Estonian or Russian is also an advantage
  • Curious, passionate individuals eager to bring fresh ideas, adapt to change and learn quickly
  • Candidates who are willing to take initiative, challenge themselves, and make a positive impact
  • Good proficiency in English, both verbal and written

Why you will love it here:

  • Supportive, collaborative team – You’ll be surrounded by friendly colleagues who are always ready to help and share their knowledge.
  • Real development opportunities – From day one, you’ll learn new skills, get hands on experience, and grow in areas that matter for your career.
  • A culture that values curiosity – Ask questions, try new things, and explore ideas — we encourage it.
  • Opportunities to connect and feel part of the team – Team events, knowledge-sharing sessions, and chances to network across the organization.
