Job title: Managing Director - Principal Financial Network (Sioux Falls)
About the Role This role leads and consults with financial professionals to help them build their skills and grow their practice across the territory. It also involves attracting and developing top-tier talent to foster an intentional, high-performing culture. You’ll focus on developing a profitable business center by attracting, training, motivating, and retaining advisors while meeting company objectives.
What You'll Do
- Lead and consult with financial professionals to grow their practice across the territory
- Attract and develop top-tier talent to the team and culture
- Develop a profitable business center by attracting, training, motivating, and retaining advisors
- Achieve recruiting/retention goals, production, persistency, business conduct, and expense management in line with center and company objectives
- Build and maintain community relations; represent the center within the market
- Collaborate to align incentives, including a heavy incentive component in addition to base salary
- Travel as needed (with the possibility of overnight stays up to 15%)
- Ensure regulatory and licensing readiness in coordination with Principal Financial Network policies
What We're Looking For
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or eight years of equivalent experience; 4+ years related work experience in sales and management
- Experience recruiting experienced financial advisors; strong preferred
- Broad knowledge of sales techniques and regulations governing insurance and securities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong presentation abilities
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, select, train, lead, manage, and supervise a diverse group of producers
- Ability to develop and maintain community relations
- Designations desired: CLU/ChFC, CFP, or CLF
- Some travel required, including overnight stays (up to 15%)
- Licenses/exams include resident Life/Health and Variable Annuity licenses; non-resident licensing where applicable; Series 7 and 63 or 24/65/66 as required for IAR with Principal Securities, Inc.
Nice to Have
- Chartered Life Underwriter/Chartered Financial Consultant (CLU/ChFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Leadership Fellow (CLF)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $82,000 - $110,700 per year (USD)
- Flexible Time Off (FTO) for salaried employees
