Managing Director, Go-To-Market - Customer Experience
About this role
Job title: Managing Director, Go-To-Market - Customer Experience
Slalom is seeking a Managing Director to lead go-to-market for our Customer Experience (CX) practice. This role is about building the business. You'll own how CX shows up in the market, how we win, and how we grow a practice of 400+ consultants working with clients across experience design, marketing, commerce, contact center, loyalty, and digital product.
You'll spend most of your time with clients and pursuit teams, not in internal meetings. You thrive on the hunt, you're credible in the room with senior buyers, and you know how to build pipeline that converts. You'll manage three regional GTM leaders and their teams, setting commercial direction and driving the discipline that connects capability to revenue.
What You'll Do
-
Own the go-to-market motion for CX nationally, including pipeline strategy, pursuit leadership, and solution origination
-
Manage three regional GTM leaders and their direct teams, setting expectations, removing blockers, and developing GTM talent
-
Build and maintain senior client relationships across the CX portfolio, acting as a trusted advisor and commercial anchor on key accounts
-
Lead complex, multi-capability pursuits from qualification through close, orchestrating internal teams and aligning delivery to what we sell
-
Partner with capability leaders and practice MDs to translate CX's expertise into compelling client propositions
-
Contribute to delivery on select engagements where your presence creates client value or accelerates growth
-
Represent CX in cross-practice pursuit conversations, particularly in technology-led deals where CX should attach or drive
-
Craft and further the commercial operating model for GTM: pipeline hygiene, win/loss accountability, and market prioritization
-
What You'll Bring
-
15+ years in consulting or professional services, with a track record of building and closing business in complex enterprise environments
-
Experience managing GTM or sales leadership teams, not just carrying a bag yourself
-
Deep fluency in customer experience as a business problem, spanning marketing technology, digital, service, and loyalty
-
The ability to walk into a room with a CMO, CCO, or Chief Digital Officer and have a conversation worth having
-
Comfort operating in a matrixed, capability-based model where influence matters as much as authority
-
Demonstrated success managing revenue targets and building client relationships that expand over time
-
Experience in healthcare, financial services, or retail/consumer is a plus
-
