  • Set the yearly plan with the CEO and Board, and deliver it.
  • Grow the business: more clients, more trades and more revenue from shares and bonds.
  • Lead our digital plans, including how and when we launch new products.
  • Manage the budget and profit, and get us ready for the SEC's new minimum capital rules, due by June 2027.
  • Represent us to the SEC, NGX, banks and major clients, and keep us compliant as we grow.
  • Hire, lead and grow a strong team.

Additional Information:

  • Your team: Heads of trading, compliance, risk, operations, finance, sales and IT
  • Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. In the office, with time out for client and regulator meetings
  • Job type: Permanent, with a 6-month probation
  • Start date: As soon as possible, once your SEC registration is done

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree (BSc or equivalent) at minimum. An MSc or MBA is preferred.
  • At least 12 years in Nigeria's capital market, with 5 or more years running a stockbroking or investment business.
  • Chartered Stockbroker (CIS) with active membership, and eligible for SEC registration as MD.
  • Proof that you've grown a business, with numbers: clients, trades, revenue or market share.
  • Experience in forecasting and budgeting.
  • Experience leading and managing people.
  • Good knowledge of the Investments and Securities Act 2025 and SEC and NGX rules.
  • Experience leading a big change, such as launching a product or moving to a new system.
  • The confidence to work with regulators, large clients and a Board.

It's a bonus if you have:

  • FCIS or CFA
  • Experience with an investment app or fintech
  • Experience with an ERP system (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Experience using AI tools at work
  • Background in bonds, fund management or wealth management
  • Member of the Institute of Directors (IoD)

In your first year, we'd like to see:

  • A growth plan approved by the Board and hitting its targets for clients, trading and revenue.

  • A clear plan to meet the new SEC capital rules, and on track.
  • Our digital plan approved, with the first projects live.
