The Office of Corporate Engagement
The Goldman Sachs Office of Corporate Engagement coordinates the global philanthropic efforts of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (Goldman Sachs), including strategic partnerships, charitable giving, and employee volunteering. Corporate Engagement is comprised of the Goldman Sachs Foundation, Goldman Sachs Gives, 10,000 Women, 10,000 Small Businesses, and Community TeamWorks.
The Role
We are seeking a senior leader, based in London, to oversee the firm's philanthropic and social impact portfolio across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
This is a senior leadership role at the intersection of philanthropy, business, and public policy -- shaping how Goldman Sachs delivers social impact across its international markets.
The successful candidate will set strategy across a diverse international portfolio, build and sustain relationships with partners and stakeholders at the most senior levels, and represent the firm externally. They will combine strategic vision with the judgment to lead high-profile programs at scale.
Strategic Leadership of the International Portfolio
- Set and drive the multi-year strategy for the Office of Corporate Engagement across, aligning the firm's social impact with its commercial priorities and regional strategies
- Hold overall accountability for the international delivery of the firm's flagship programs across the region, including 10,000 Small Businesses (UK and France), 10,000 Women, Goldman Sachs Gives, and Community TeamWorks
Senior Stakeholder & External Engagement
- Serve as an external representative of the firm's social impact in EMEA, engaging at the most senior levels with governments, policy makers, business leaders, academic and multilateral institutions, and program alumni
- Steward and deepen marquee external partnerships, including the firm's relationship with leading academic and delivery partners across both regions
- Represent the firm on advisory bodies, at convenings, and on public platforms, building the firm's standing as a serious and trusted partner on economic opportunity and entrepreneurship
Leading a Global Team
- Lead and manage a team, building a culture of excellence, ambition, and accountability across markets
- Serve as an advisor to firm leadership on international engagement, connecting social impact to the firm's broader strategy and reputation
Impact, Governance & Execution
- Oversee strategy, budgets, and program delivery across the portfolio, ensuring strong governance and adherence to compliance requirements throughout
- Define and track the measures that matter -- reach, outcomes, and impact -- and bring rigor to how the firm understands and communicates its difference, including the thoughtful application of AI and data tools to strengthen insight and decision-making
- Partner with internal Brand, Communications, and Media teams to convey the portfolio's impact to internal and external audiences, telling compelling stories of the difference these programs make in communities across both regions
Background and Qualifications
- A senior leader with significant experience (minimum 15+ years) across philanthropy, business, public policy, or a related field, including substantial time leading at scale
- A credible and compelling external presence, comfortable engaging principals across business, government, and the social sector, and representing an organization publicly
- A strategic thinker who can set direction across a complex, multi-program, multi-region portfolio
- An accomplished people leader, skilled at building and developing distributed teams across geographies and cultures
- A hunger to learn and embrace AI to transform the Office of Corporate Engagement.
- Highest degree of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
- A proven record of building and sustaining partnerships across organizations, sectors, and geographies, including with senior external stakeholders
- Fluent in using data to sharpen strategy, measure impact, and tell a credible story
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Master’s degree in international Affairs, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field
