We are looking for a Manager/Senior Manager, Engineering for our AI Platform team. Someone who can take ownership of a fast-growing, high-visibility team building the agentic foundation for SimCorp One, and who is ready to help define how AI agents get built, governed, and shipped across the company.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

SimCorp's AI & Insights area is building the foundation for the agentic future of investment operations: Running SimCorp agents, leveraging partner agents, and integrating with clients workflows. The AI Platform team owns that foundation: a compliant, standardized, secure, and user-friendly agentic ecosystem that domain teams can leverage when building their AI features.

The team's recent deliveries and current focus include preparing Agent Orchestrator and SimCorp One Neo for production, publishing the Agent Development Stack, implementing evaluation, trust, safety and guardrails, progressing multi-agent orchestration, and exploring MCP for SimCorp One APIs.

You will partner closely with the Product Manager for AI Platform to turn the roadmap into delivery, and you will report directly to the Senior Director of Engineering. You will also be part of the AI & Insights leadership team, contributing to the broader deliveries and growth of the area.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Team leadership and development

• Lead and grow the AI Platform team, distributed across multiple locations, creating clear priorities and a supportive, engaged culture

• Develop individual engineers through regular 1:1s, coaching, and honest feedback

• Hire and onboard new engineers into an already fast-moving workstream as scope grows

• Delivery and operations

• Own delivery of the AI Platform roadmap: production readiness for Agent Orchestrator and SimCorp One Neo, the Agent Development Stack, evaluation/trust/safety/guardrails, multi-agent orchestration, and MCP for SCD APIs

• Manage day-to-day prioritisation, capacity, and engineering health, keeping delivery and engagement strong

• Remove blockers before they slow the team down, and hold a high bar on security, compliance, and operational readiness

• Stakeholder and cross-team collaboration

• Partner with the Product Manager to translate product strategy into an executable engineering plan

• Align with the Senior Director of Engineering on priorities and risks

• Collaborate across Product Development, and translate technical work into clear updates for non-technical stakeholders

• Strategy and growth

• Help shape SimCorp's agentic platform strategy as scope expands beyond today's capabilities

• Anticipate where the team needs to grow in skills, headcount, and tooling, and advocate for it

• Bring an informed point of view on responsible, safe, and governed AI agent development

WHAT WE VALUE

Ownership and independence You take responsibility without being told to, dig in when things are unclear, and are comfortable deciding with incomplete information and following through.

Management experience You have led engineering teams before, ideally in a platform or infrastructure context, with a genuine track record of accountability for team outcomes and engagement.

Technical grounding in AI and platform engineering You have a background in software or platform engineering and engage comfortably with agent orchestration, LLM-based systems, APIs, and the trust/safety layer around them. You will not write production code, but you understand what your engineers build, ask the right questions, and spot when something is off.

Communication clarity You write and speak in plain, precise English, can explain a complex platform decision to a non-technical stakeholder, and represent your team with confidence in senior forums.

Result orientation and a growth mindset You focus on outcomes, not just activity, and drive your own growth and your team's.

Distributed team experience and empathy Leading a distributed team takes clear communication, inclusive practices, and genuine attention to people's wellbeing. Experience with Scandinavian or European teams, and comfort with remote work, is a plus.

Structured thinking in ambiguous situations AI technology and the team's scope are still evolving. You create clarity, manage capacity with discipline, and align with stakeholders without escalating every decision.
