About the role

1. Payroll Processing and Administration

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely salary disbursement.
• Validate payroll inputs, attendance, leave, salary revisions, incentives, arrears, reimbursements, and full & final settlements.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee queries.

2. SAP HR/HCM Payroll – Hands-on Experience

• Independently execute and validate payroll runs in SAP HR/HCM, including payroll simulation, error resolution, and payroll release.
• Manage employee master data, infotypes, wage types, payroll schemas, PCRs, and payroll control records.
• Handle retroactive accounting, off-cycle payroll, payroll corrections, and payroll reporting.
• Ensure accurate payroll posting and reconciliation with SAP FI/GL.
• Coordinate SAP configuration changes, system enhancements, UAT, and troubleshooting.

3. Statutory Compliance and Taxation

• Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements, including PF, ESI, professional tax, income tax/TDS, gratuity, and bonus.
• Manage statutory deductions, payments, returns, reconciliations, and employee tax documentation.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation in payroll processes.

4. Payroll Accounting and Reconciliation

• Coordinate with Finance for payroll accounting, salary payments, and posting of payroll expenses and liabilities.
• Reconcile payroll with the General Ledger, bank payments, and employee records.
• Support month-end/year-end closing, provisions, and financial reporting.

5. Team Management and Process Control

• Lead the payroll team and ensure adherence to payroll calendars, SOPs, and internal controls.
• Maintain payroll confidentiality, data accuracy, and access controls.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and operational efficiency through SAP.

6. Reporting, Audit and Stakeholder Management

• Prepare payroll MIS, salary cost reports, variance analysis, and management reports.
• Support internal and statutory audits with payroll records and SAP reports.
• Coordinate with HR, Finance, IT, and external consultants to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in end-to-end payroll management in a managerial role.
• Strong hands-on experience in SAP HR/HCM Payroll, including payroll execution, troubleshooting, validation, and reporting.
• Sound knowledge of SAP payroll configuration concepts, wage types, schemas, PCRs, infotypes, retroactive accounting, and payroll posting.
• Strong understanding of Indian payroll statutory compliance and taxation.
• Experience in SAP FI integration, payroll reconciliation, and accounting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Essential Requirement

Candidates must have practical, hands-on SAP Payroll experience and be capable of independently managing the complete payroll cycle, resolving SAP payroll errors, ensuring statutory compliance, and delivering accurate and timely payroll.
