Manager of Revenue Recognition

Tyler Technologies is seeking a Manager of Revenue Recognition to support and enhance our company-wide revenue recognition processes. Reporting to the Director of Revenue Recognition, this role plays a critical part in partnering with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Legal to guide contract structuring, ensure compliance with ASC 606, and drive optimal business outcomes. The Manager will serve as a technical accounting expert and a leader within the revenue recognition function. As a part of Tyler’s corporate staff, you will make an impact on outcomes that affect various areas of the company. Your work will ultimately support our team members, clients, stakeholders, and the public sector.

Responsibilities

• Apply strong technical accounting expertise to review, assess, document, and justify revenue recognition conclusions under ASC 606, ensuring compliance with GAAP while supporting favorable business results.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing revenue recognition team by providing ongoing coaching, training, performance evaluation, and process improvement initiatives.
• Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships to promote revenue recognition awareness and alignment throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Serve as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors, addressing revenue-related inquiries and supporting audit procedures.
• Provide regular updates, reporting, and insights to senior leadership regarding team activities, contract reviews, and key revenue considerations.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of contract reviews, offering guidance and support to team members to maintain compliance with standards and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accounting or business administration required; CPA strongly preferred.

• 3–5 years of hands-on ASC 606 experience, including complex revenue arrangements.

• Minimum 2 years of team leadership or management experience.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a willingness to take a hands-on approach.

• Proven experience managing and developing skilled professionals, providing technical guidance and constructive feedback.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining high-quality work.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
