About the Role

The Manager, Materials Procurement oversees the Material Procurement operations team that supports Entergy’s Power Generation plants and procurement of safety-related and non-safety related material. As a lead member of the Procurement & Supply Chain team, this role interfaces with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Operations, Chemistry, Project Management, Legal, Taxes, Compliance and other functions to support work management, outages and on-line planning, preparation and execution of work, ensuring governance, compliance and improvements in material supply and equipment reliability.

What You'll Do

• Ensure safety first and actively promote strong safety behaviors; monitor suppliers for safety concerns and use tools like Close Call / Good Catch and proactive field visits to review standards.
• Drive excellence in Materials and Services Procurement by optimizing the tiered procurement model and leveraging Entergy’s full spending power through collaboration with category management and plant contract specialist teams.
• Lead a team of procurement specialists focused on material procurement; act on behalf of P&SC leadership when required.
• Provide outage and emergency support, including backshift coverage; maintain effective communications between plant management and procurement for emergent and outage priorities; support Incident Response activities.
• Establish departmental objectives and performance standards aligned with P&SC goals and site expectations; actively seek ideas for continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain healthy stakeholder relationships; convene cross-functional and cross-sector teams; help develop multi-year demand plans with integrated supply chain solutions.
• Leverage P&SC Talent Management strategy to recruit, develop, retain, and deploy talent; mentor and coach staff.
• Uphold Entergy’s ethical standards and internal controls; ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements; support Local Spend objectives through supplier base management.

What We're Looking For

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering or related discipline with 8+ years of experience in materials/warehousing, purchasing, contracts or project management; in lieu of degree, 12+ years of relevant experience; 3+ years supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of Supply Chain Management fundamentals and interfacing department processes and priorities.
• Proven ability to learn quickly, focus on performance improvement, and manage costs.
• Demonstrated ability to apply relevant codes/regulations and manage risk.
• Excellent leadership, communication, conflict management, and change management skills.
• Working knowledge of inventory systems, MRO materials, warehousing and receipt inspection activities; familiarity with contracts systems.
• Technical understanding of generation principles and operations.
• Travel up to 25%.
