Manager, Manufacturing Finance
This role is part of Alcon's Finance, Accounting, & Audit function, a team that advances Alcon's financial strategy and ensures fiscal responsibility as we transform the eye care industry.
The Manager, Manufacturing Finance, is primarily responsible for supporting the financial management of plant/manufacturing operations by providing detailed financial performance analysis, cost tracking, and inventory management. You will ensure accurate financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting, and help manage capital expenditure through detailed business case preparation and perform standard cost rolls for the site.
This role will be on-site in our Houston, Texas location and specifics include:
- Prepare and consolidate financial reports for plant/manufacturing operations.
- Conduct variance analysis for financial results, including sales, cost of goods sold, and working capital.
- Work with senior managers to set financial targets and track performance against key performance indicators.
- Coordinate and manage the strat plan, annual budget and monthly forecast processes for the site.
- Analyze and monitor trends in inventory and cost of goods sold.
- Support the preparation of capital appropriation requests and assist in assessing financial risks.
- Develop and implement action plans to address financial variances and improve operational efficiency
- Assist in monthly accruals, general ledger maintenance, and financial control processes.
- Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to support strategic initiatives and goals to improve operational efficiency.
What You’ll Bring To Alcon:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 5 Years of Relevant Experience
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced Excel, proficiency in BI tools, working knowledge of SAP or similar enterprise ERP
- Advanced degree preferably with CPA or CMA or similar designation
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and problem-solving mindset.
