Job Description

Manages a team of Business Optimization professionals responsible for executing process improvement projects and operational enhancements. Aligns team efforts with departmental goals, ensures quality and compliance, and supports the development of scalable, efficient business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the BPO team, ensuring timely delivery of initiatives.
  • Translate business needs into actionable optimization and process improvement plans.
  • Oversee the execution of moderately complex projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure process documentation, reporting, and compliance with standards.
  • Develop business cases and ROI models for process investments.
  • Oversee the definition and tracking of value metrics for process improvement projects within the team’s scope.
  • Support the development and implementation of automation and efficiency tools.
  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Track and report on project progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Support resource planning and team development efforts.
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions to identify pain points and co-create process improvement solutions.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess the effectiveness of process changes.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a process optimization function or related experience with demonstrated success in supporting enterprise/functional area efficiencies.

  • 1+ years of management experience; or equivalent experience as a subject matter lead or expert in related area.

  • Broad knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations.

  • Broad knowledge of banking/financial industry trends, products and services.

  • Significant progressively responsible experience leading and managing business optimization teams, preferably in a large financial institution, including operational and regulatory controls.

  • Significant experience demonstrating thought-leadership, initiative-taking, decision making and creativity solving business problems.

  • Advanced experience in business case development and ROI modeling.

  • Proven ability to lead a team in executing process improvement initiatives aligned with business goals.

  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate workflows and identify opportunities for optimization.

  • Ability to translate process data into actionable insights and communicate findings to stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in applying Lean Six Sigma tools to improve operational efficiency.

  • Skill in managing daily operations and ensuring consistent execution of process standards.

  • Understanding of how process performance impacts broader organizational outcomes.

  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional efforts and resolve process-related challenges.

  • Strong communication skills for presenting process updates and recommendations.

  • Commitment to developing team capabilities through coaching and performance feedback.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize resources to meet deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

  • Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

  • Lean Six Sigma certification, Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP), or Certified Lean Practitioner.
