About the Role The Manager of Global Strategic Sourcing – Marketing leads by example and partners with cross‑functional leaders to drive competitive advantage and value for Visa across marketing categories. You will develop negotiation strategies, identify opportunities for value and process improvements, and report to the Sr. Director – Strategic Sourcing Marketing within the Global Procurement Organization. For Media, Martech, and Events & Sponsorships, you will guide engagements to enable supply market solutions for diverse business needs.

What You'll Do

• Engage and establish business partnerships with cross‑functional leadership to collaborate, influence, and drive sourcing strategies.
• Manage complex sourcing strategies, scope requirements, business partnerships, and navigate a large global matrixed organization.
• Lead supplier selection and negotiation; act as primary liaison to Legal to negotiate contractual terms with business owners.
• Collaborate with Legal and other departments to analyze risks and develop language to minimize exposure.
• Lead highly complex sourcing events (E‑Auctions, RFx) and provide final analysis on value to finance partners.
• Create a shared vision by embedding strategic sourcing into various parts of the business.
• Provide high‑level guidance on the strategic sourcing process from needs identification through supplier performance management across multiple media agencies.
• Perform market, benchmark, and financial analyses presented in a storytelling format to drive decision making.
• Champion change, act decisively to drive decisions, and adapt to evolving business needs.
• Communicate effectively, listen, and value the perspectives of others.
• Develop and manage category‑wide supplier relationship management (SRM) plans with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
• Support the implementation of Global Sourcing policies and procedures.
• This role is hybrid and based in Foster City, CA with Visa requiring at least 3 days in the office; these days will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager.

What We're Looking For

• Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD.
• 5–7 years leading the development and management of category plans or sourcing strategies specific to marketing categories.
• In‑depth understanding of the agency and production marketplace; deep industry and/or professional relationships with suppliers and agencies.
• Strong marketing math/measurement knowledge and associated metrics.
• Proven ability to challenge the status quo by developing recommendations using business acumen, market intelligence, and insights to drive strategic impact.
• Demonstrated contract and negotiation experience, including development of negotiating plans and strategies for various marketing categories.
• Strong relationship‑management skills and ability to communicate effectively, and collaborate with senior‑to‑exec management; you should be able to tell compelling stories through insights and data.
• Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree preferred.
• Experience in contract and agreement negotiation, including development of negotiation plans for business and commercial contracts.
• Experience developing category strategies working closely with the business to drive efficiencies.
• Knowledge and understanding of merger and acquisition activities to support contract lifecycle management and migration.
• Experience working independently and collaboratively with partners at all levels on a global scale.
• Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
