Manager, Feasibility and Site Activation (FSA)
About the Role ICON seeks a Manager, Feasibility and Site Activation (FSA) to lead teams responsible for high-quality feasibility assessments and efficient site activation for global clinical trials. The role focuses on coordinating start-up delivery, resolving issues, and developing team capability in a hybrid office/home environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead FSA project teams to deliver country and site feasibility, start-up strategies, and activation activities in line with timelines and quality expectations.
- Oversee coordination of essential documents, regulatory and ethics submissions, and contract/start-up packages for assigned studies.
- Review feasibility data, assumptions, and risks; partner with stakeholders to develop mitigation plans and realistic start-up forecasts.
- Collaborate with business development and operational teams to support proposals, bid defenses, and customer meetings with robust FSA input.
- Monitor performance metrics for feasibility and site activation; identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to FSA staff, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
What We're Looking For
- Solid site start-up and activation experience with the ability to manage competing priorities and develop your team.
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, healthcare, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in clinical research with a strong focus on feasibility, site selection, and study start-up.
- Proven ability to manage projects or teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Strong analytical and planning skills, with experience interpreting feasibility data and operational metrics.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including customer-facing experience.
- Continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on quality, predictability, and operational excellence.
- Willingness to travel approximately 15%.
- Experience in Clinical Operations and Study Start-Up, with line management, team lead, or project management experience to manage people.
- Experience in site activation (Feasibility to Activation) across multiple tasks; ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Experience in team development and performance improvement; business-level English proficiency.
