Role Definition: Manages Solar Turbines India Engineering’s SPE - Standard Solutions India Engineering team. Crucial, high visibility management role in SPE product sustaining organization. Key people leadership position responsible for supporting the team, as a servant leader, ensuring members of various product sustaining teams have what they need to succeed.
Responsibilities: Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for engineering teams; motivating and developing project and team leaders. Providing specialized engineering technical support and consulting services to various areas of the organization. Managing high-impact, short and long duration engineering initiatives and projects; ensuring achievement of engineering plan and product quality. Driving programs to completion on time and within budget.
Requirements: Minimum of a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline, and at least 10-15 years direct experience in a gas turbine package design and turbomachinery technology. Basic knowledge of gas turbine operating cycles and engine design characteristics; a general understanding of core engineering principles and design practices (fundamental design, analysis and drawing requirements). Broad understanding of component materials and processes, manufacturing technologies and methods, quality practices, and test validation procedures. Experience in managing or leading technical staff through technical evaluations, project planning and execution, and practical design solutions (with ability to lead, coach, and teach). Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and motivational skills to operate in a cross functional teaming environment. Ability to influence peers and partners to proactively drive product quality improvements, transactional workflows, and standard practices. Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities is essential with capability to apply Lean workflow management principles and Agile planning methods.
