Job title: Manager, Engineering - AI/BI

About the Role Databricks is seeking a dedicated Engineering Leader to grow the Data Visualization and UC Business Semantics teams (AI/BI) in Vancouver. You will lead a team of full-stack engineers and SMEs, drive product vision and strategy, and scale the organization to deliver interactive dashboards and analytics features. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Engineering and focuses on building high-quality, scalable software and managing architecture and technical debt.

What You'll Do

• Lead a talented engineering team of full-stack engineers and SMEs focused on Data Visualization and UC Business Semantics initiatives.
• Oversee recruitment and talent development to grow the team and maintain top-tier engineering talent.
• Build processes to implement product vision and strategy aligned with organizational goals and priorities.
• Deliver high-quality, easy-to-operate software while proactively managing technical debt and long-term architecture decisions; balance the product roadmap.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Product Management, Customer Success) and other engineering teams across multiple locations.
• Drive scalability of the platform to support multiple product teams and customers.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in managing teams that build and operate SaaS systems.
• 5+ years of experience with distributed systems and building platforms and services that serve multiple product teams and customers.
• Experience scaling engineering teams from 5 to 20+ members.
• Strong track record of attracting, hiring, and retaining top engineering talent.
• Experience managing distributed teams across multiple locations.
• Team player with ability to work with Product Management and Customer Success.
• BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving tech environment.
• Excellent at hiring and developing talent and creating efficient processes that increase velocity and quality.

Compensation & Benefits

• Canada Pay Range: CAD 171,100 – 227,500.
• The total compensation package may include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
